Understanding yourself is often where change begins.
Counseling offers something that's surprisingly rare: a direct, honest conversation about what's actually driving your experience, not just the surface symptoms, but the deeper patterns that keep showing up.
Whether you're managing something acute or working through something that's been quietly building for years, the work is the same: understanding what's underneath it, and building the capacity to respond differently.

Psychological Services That Go Beyond Symptom Management
Most people come to counseling because something has stopped working or stopped being manageable.
-
Stress feels relentless
-
Relationships feel strained
-
A transition has created real uncertainty
-
Old patterns keep showing up despite genuine effort to change them
Symptom relief matters. But lasting change usually requires understanding the deeper factors driving the experience, not just managing what's on the surface.
My approach is direct, evidence-based, and built around your specific situation. The work focuses on understanding what's actually happening and why. Then developing the specific skills and insight to respond differently.
A Personalized Approach
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all counseling.
Every person comes in with a distinct history, set of strengths, and specific set of challenges. My role isn't to apply a protocol — it's to develop an accurate understanding of what's actually driving your experience and work with you on the specific changes that are worth making.
The approach is direct, evidence-based, and built around you, not a method.
Individual Counseling
A deeper understanding of yourself creates more options for how you respond.
Individual counseling for adults dealing with anxiety, burnout, performance pressure, trauma, grief, significant life transitions, and the psychological cost of sustained high-demand living.
The work is direct and evidence-based. We identify what's driving the experience, not just the symptoms, and build specific, practical steps for responding differently. This isn't open-ended processing. It's purposeful examination with a clear clinical focus.

Couples Counseling
Better relationships begin with better understanding.
Most relationship problems aren't caused by a single event. They develop through patterns.
Patterns in how conflict gets handled or avoided. How needs get expressed or don't. How trust gets built, eroded, and repaired. How two people with different histories end up having the same argument in different forms.
Couples counseling here is psychologically informed and direct. I identify what's actually driving the cycle, develop a more accurate picture of the dynamic, and build the specific communication and relational skills that create durable change, not just temporary de-escalation.

A Few Practical Notes
All counseling services are conducted via telehealth and are available to individuals residing in California, New York, Colorado, and Virginia.
I am not in-network with insurance providers. A Superbill is available for clients pursuing out-of-network reimbursement through their plan.
Reduced rates are available for active military, veterans, first responders, and public safety personnel.
The work is worth doing.
The question is when.
Most people who reach out have been sitting with something for longer than they needed to. Counseling doesn't require a crisis. It requires a decision that what you're carrying deserves more than continued management. Consultations are 15 minutes. A straightforward conversation about what you're dealing with and whether this would be useful.
